Independent support for parents navigating Social Care

Social Care Support (SCS) Parent Hub provides calm, independent guidance for parents who are working with children’s services or other professionals around their family. We help you understand processes, prepare for meetings, and feel more confident in how you engage. Our role is to support you as a steady anchor while always keeping your child’s welfare central.

Our dedicated support services

We provide a range of specialised services designed to meet your unique needs during what can be a challenging time. Our focus is on offering clear, practical, and empathetic support, empowering you at every step.

Understanding what is happening

We help you make sense of what children's social care are doing and why.  You will understand the steps, what your rights are and what different meetings and decisions mean.  The aim is for you to feel informed, clear and confident in how you engage.

Preparing for Meetings

We help you get ready for key meetings such as Child Protection Conferences, Core Groups and any other meetings arranged by Children's Social Care.  You will feel clearer about what will be discussed, what you want to say and how to take part calmly and confidently.

Support during assessments

We support you through child and family assessments so you understand what is being asked, why it matters and how you can ensure that your views are captured clearly.  You will feel more prepared for conversations and clearer about the next steps.

Working through plans together

We help you understand plans such as Child in Need or Child Protection Plans and what they mean for your family.  You can talk things through, prepare what you want to say, suggest changes that support your parenting and feel more confident taking part in discussions about the next steps.

Learning and understanding

Alongside one to one support, SCS Parent Hub offers workshops and guided sessions to help parents understand how the system works.  These sessions focus on helping you feel more informed, more confident and clearer about your role in meetings, assessments and plans.  The  aim is for you to feel equipped rather than overwhelmed.

Independent and focused on your family

SCS Parent Hub is not part of the local authority. We are independent from Children’s Social Care and provide a space where you can talk openly, reflect and prepare for what comes next.

Our role is to support you to engage constructively with professionals while always keeping safeguarding and your child’s welfare central. The focus is on helping you understand what is happening, what is expected, and how you can move forward in a calm and informed way.

This support sits alongside the work of your social worker. It does not replace them or make decisions. Instead, it helps you feel more prepared, more confident and clearer about how to take part in meetings and plans.

Qualified and experienced support

Support is provided by experienced social work professionals with senior-level management knowledge of how children’s services operate. This means you are working with someone who understands the system from the inside, while remaining independent from the local authority.

Our role is to help you feel clearer about what is happening, what is expected, and how you can take part in a constructive way. Sessions are calm, structured and focused on helping you feel more prepared and more confident when working with professionals.

We understand that many parents feel overwhelmed, confused or unsure of what is required. The aim is to support you to understand plans, communicate effectively and demonstrate progress where this is needed, while keeping your child’s welfare central at all times.
